We doin' this?
So I've been looking at a premade adventure that I downloaded for level 1 characters and I totally think I could run it if we wanted to get together and give our characters a test drive. I'm interested in DMing anyway so I think it would totally be fun.

If you wanted to bring it over Friday night, that would work, I guess. I was just planning on setting up a couple of simple scenarios to go through how combat would work, plus one or two sort of character interaction scenarios involving some more role-playing/non-combat elements. We could do the premade thing if you want.
I was just now reading everyone's emails about Friday; you beat me to the punch. It totally doesn't matter to me. Something simple might be easier. Maybe I can pick out just one part of the premade that has a few different elements to it to practice after we do whatever you plan so we can first learn how to do everything and then see how it all might work in the "real world."
That might work. And why the quotes around real world?

will either of the two options mean permanent advancement for our characters?
ie if Brian's adventure involves me coming up on 5 gold and 12 XP, i would MUCH rather do that, only because i dislike doing anything that doesn't count.
why don't we just do both?
